Hello and welcome to another August edition of the Legacy Smiles blog!
Around here, we are big on cosmetic dentistry, because we know how important appearance can be when you are trying to get ahead in the work world, and want to feel good about yourself in social settings.
When you have a so-called “gummy” smile, for example, this can sink your self- confidence and can adversely impact your efforts both at work and at play.
There is some good news for you though: our team is trained and equipped to utilize the latest dental laser technology. What does that mean? It means that we can quickly and painlessly reshape your gums thereby transforming your smile, and your life!
With our extensive cosmetic offerings and imaging tools, we can truly create the smile of your dreams. Plus, we can use either digital imaging or wax-ups to show you what your new smile will look like even before we begin!

Dental Technology That’s Good For Your Gums
You probably already realize that one reason you might have a “gummy” smile is because of excessive gum tissue. The only way to remedy that situation is by removing some of your gum tissue. It sounds painful, right? Don’t worry, it isn’t!
The BIOLASE Waterlase dental laser is just one example of the advancements we have seen in recent years. It can be employed to gently cut into soft tissues like gums without creating any discomfort or bleeding.
As opposed to the older ways (a scalpel or even other kinds of dental lasers), the Waterlase is safer and more effective. We will only remove the gum tissue that needs to be removed, and you heal faster when your procedure is over. What used to be an unpleasant experience is now no big deal.
Crown Lengthening Just Got Easier
No two smiles are the same. If your gummy smile is not the result of excess gum tissue, but rather due to “short” teeth, we can use the Waterlase is for a gentle procedure called crown lengthening.
This treatment doesn’t really make your teeth any longer. That is not actually possible. Rather, it helps reveal more of the crowns of your teeth eliminating the gummy smile.
To improve your appearance, we can use the Waterlase to remove the gum tissue. By removing that tissue, more of your crowns will be exposed.
