Preventive Dentistry Makes Close Encounters Better

Water Sports

We take it for granted all too often. But water is such a great thing when it comes to remaining healthy and happy. As it happens, staying sufficiently hydrated is also the best thing you can do to keep bad breath from ruining your relationships.

Why is this so? Not to be crude, but it has to do with spit. Saliva naturally eliminates bacteria in your mouth that is causing your bad breath. But for saliva to be produced, you will need to drink lots of refreshing water. Easy enough!

Don’t Eat The Mints

It is tempting but don’t reach for a mint to cover up the foul taste in your mouth. It may seem like the easiest solution but it makes matters worse in the long run. The problem is that most mints are full of sugar.

After the mint has dissolved in your mouth, all that lingers is a sugary residue that actually feeds the bacteria causing your breath problems.

Your Tongue Needs Work

Your tongue can harbor bacteria and add to your breath problems. If you are dealing with chronic bad breath, take some time each day to scrape and brush your tongue. You will thank us later.

Find The Brush & Floss

Bacteria is running wild in your mouth at any given time. And overcoming your bad breath is a matter of eradicating that bacteria!

To get the breath you want, you should be brushing and flossing twice a day or more to drive bacteria out of the hard-to-get-to areas within your mouth.

This will help keep your mouth fresh and clean in-between your preventive appointments in our office.
